Being Pregnant
Calendar

Until my Due Date: June 13th 2002

Week 29: The baby is beginning to regulate its own body temperature to a certain extent. The bone marrow is now in charge of production of the red blood cells. The baby is now urinating about a half liter of urine into the amniotic fluid everyday. The baby weighs about 2 pounds 9 ounces (1.16 kilograms).

Week 30: The baby is very aware of the surroundings. It notices the Braxton Hicks contractions you may be having, but is not adversely affected by them. It can see light and dark depending on the mother's environment.

The baby weighs about 3 pounds (1.36 kilograms), and measures about 14.8 inches (37.5 cm) in length.

Week 31: The fingernails may reach the end of the hands. The retina of the baby's eyes can now dilate and contract in response to light. Due to the deposits of white fat underneath the skin the baby's skin is no longer red but pink. The baby weighs about 3 pounds 5 ounces (1.5 kilograms) this week.

Week 32: Your baby's movements will peak this week. From now on they will change in quantity and quality. Most of the wrinkles may be disappearing from the baby's face, and there may be a lot of hair on the head. The weight gain has been substantial recently. Since last month the baby has put on about 2 pounds of weight, mostly fat and muscle tissue, and now weighs about 3 pounds 11 ounces (1.7 kilograms), and measures 40 cm or 15.8 inches in length.
